Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and VVDev LLC (30 N Gould St #22306, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States), the company behind Calvy, about using our app and this website. Installing the app or creating an account means you accept them. If you do not, the app is not for you.
Read this part even if you skip the rest. Calvy estimates the nutrition in your food. Estimates are approximate by nature, especially from a photograph. The app is not a medical device and nothing in it is medical advice. If nutrition is part of treating a condition you have, your doctor decides, not our numbers.
Who can use Calvy
You need to be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. Do not use Calvy if you are recovering from an eating disorder unless your clinician has told you that calorie tracking is safe for you. Counting can make things worse for some people, and we would rather say so plainly.
What the service does
Calvy lets you record what you eat and drink by photograph, voice, barcode or manual entry, estimates the calories and nutrients, tracks water, weight, activity and eating windows, scores your day and answers questions through an AI coach.
Estimates and AI
Food recognition and the coach are automated. They are trained on data that does not include your specific kitchen, so portions and figures can be wrong, sometimes noticeably. Treat everything as a starting point you are free to correct, and correct it when you know better. We do not warrant that any number, score or recommendation is accurate or suitable for you.
Your account
Keep your login details to yourself, tell us if someone else gets into your account, and give accurate information about yourself. Your targets are calculated from what you enter, so a wrong height or weight produces a wrong plan.
What you put into the app
Your photos, entries and messages stay yours. You give us the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, process it in order to recognise food and generate answers, and improve our recognition quality. We do not publish your content and we do not sell it. If you delete something, that permission ends for the deleted content.
Do not upload anything illegal, anything belonging to someone else, or images of other people who have not agreed to it.
Free features and subscription
Some features are free. Premium features require a paid subscription, which you buy through Apple's App Store or Google Play.
- The price, the billing period and the renewal date are shown before you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the next charge, and premium stays available until the period you already paid for runs out.
- If a free trial is offered, its length is stated at purchase, and it converts to a paid period unless you cancel before it ends.
- Payment is taken by the app store, not by us. We never see your card details.
- We may change prices or the contents of a plan. Changes apply from your next billing period, and you will be told in advance.
Acceptable use
Do not copy the app, take it apart to rebuild it elsewhere, hammer our servers with automated requests, resell access, or use Calvy to build a competing dataset. Do not try to make the coach produce harmful advice or pass its answers off as coming from a health professional.
Our intellectual property
The app, the website, the name Calvy, the logo, the interface and the nutrition scoring belong to us. Using the app does not transfer any of it to you.
Availability
We aim to keep Calvy running, but we do not promise it will always be available or bug free. Recognition features need an internet connection and depend on providers we do not control. We may change or discontinue features, and if we shut something down that you paid for, we will say so in advance.
Limits on our responsibility
Calvy is provided as it is. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for decisions you make based on the app's estimates, or for health outcomes. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting your account in the app. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will explain why unless the law prevents us.
Changes to these terms
If we change them, we update the date above, and for significant changes we tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Calvy after that means you accept the new version.
